FromSoftware has announced the official release date for Elden Ring: Nightreign. The co-op, standalone adventure will be available on May 30 for PS5 and PS4, and will also launch on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One. A pre-order trailer invites players to “make your landfall in Limveld” on the release date.
The announcement comes just ahead of the game’s network test, which will take place in the coming days. According to Polygon, the test will allow a select group of players to experience part of the game before its official release, ensuring that key systems are functioning smoothly.
While the original Elden Ring focused on a single-player experience, Nightreign centers on co-op survival action, as stated by PlayStation. Players must stay alert to their surroundings in order to survive.
One of the key gameplay features, the "Night’s Tide" mechanic, gradually shrinks the available play area over time. Players will need to form alliances and level up their characters in preparation for tough boss battles. Additionally, players can revive fallen allies by attacking fellow Nightfarers when they are injured.
The game introduces upgraded movement mechanics, including the ability to grab onto Spectral Hawks to glide through the air. Players who pre-order the game will gain access to the special ‘It’s Raining’ gesture, which can also be unlocked later in the game.
Various editions of the game are available for pre-order, according to Screenrant. The Standard Edition, priced at $39.99, includes a physical copy for Xbox Series X/S and PS5, with no additional content.
The Collector’s Edition, priced at $199.99, also includes a physical copy for Xbox Series X/S or PS5, along with a steelbook case, in-game collectibles, a hardcover art book, and a 24-centimeter statue of Wylder, one of the game’s characters.
For $54.99, the Deluxe Edition offers a more expansive experience.
Nightreign will feature the Limveld area, according to its creators. While no additional areas are planned for the initial release, it’s expected that more content will be added later through downloadable content (DLC).
