Highlight of the story: Sean 'Diddy' Combs will know his fate on October 3, 2025. He was convicted on two federal counts related to prostitution. A U.S. District Judge confirmed the sentencing date. Sean “Diddy” Combs will be sentenced on October 3, 2025, following his conviction on two federal counts related to prostitution. The sentencing date was confirmed by U.S. District Judge Arun Subramanian after agreement from both the defense and prosecution, along with the U.S. Probation Office.

Combs, 55, has been in custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn since his arrest in September 2024. He was found guilty on July 2 after an eight-week trial that included extensive testimony and evidence. The jury convicted him on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, each carrying a maximum penalty of 10 years. However, he was acquitted of racketeering and sex trafficking charges, which could have resulted in a life sentence.

Federal prosecutors have indicated that, based on sentencing guidelines, Combs should face between 51 and 63 months in prison. His defense team argues for a sentence between 21 and 27 months, noting his acquittal on the more serious charges and the time he has already spent in jail. The judge is not bound by the guidelines and has full discretion in determining the sentence.

Following the verdict, Combs’ attorneys requested that he be released on bail. Judge Subramanian denied the request, citing evidence presented during the trial, including video and photographs indicating a history of violence toward former partners. Despite the acquittals, the judge emphasized that Combs would still be held accountable for his conduct.

Combs was arrested after a federal investigation alleged that he had transported individuals, including partners and sex workers, across state lines for sexual purposes. Prosecutors described him as the leader of a long-running criminal enterprise, an accusation the jury ultimately did not support.

The October 3 sentencing will conclude a case that has drawn national attention due to Combs' high-profile status in the music and entertainment industry. All time served since his arrest will be credited toward his final sentence.
