Hawkins Lab set is now being demolished. Stranger Things Season 5 will release in two parts. Volume 1 arrives on November 26, 2025. Volume 2 will be out on December 25, with the finale on December 31. An animated spinoff, Stranger Things: Tales From '85, is also coming. It is set between Seasons 2 and 3.
According to a report by WhatsOnNetflix, demolition crews recently began work on the Hawkins Lab set, located in Georgia, where much of the series was filmed. The lab, portrayed in the series as situated in Hawkins, Indiana, has played a central role in the storyline since the show’s 2016 debut.

Season 5 Release Schedule Announced

Netflix confirmed that Stranger Things Season 5 will be released in two volumes later this year. Volume 1, consisting of four episodes, will debut on November 26, 2025. Volume 2, featuring the final three episodes, will arrive on December 25, with the series finale set for December 31.

The split-release format marks a continuation of Netflix’s strategy from Season 4, aimed at maintaining viewer engagement across multiple weeks.

Animated Spinoff Expands the Franchise

In addition to the final season, Netflix recently announced an animated spinoff series titled Stranger Things: Tales From '85. The project was unveiled during a presentation at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival earlier this month.

Set during the winter of 1985, between Seasons 2 and 3 of the original series, Tales From '85 will revisit familiar characters while introducing a new figure named Nikki. The animated series will explore a fresh paranormal mystery and new monsters within the fictional town of Hawkins.

The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that the spinoff aims to capture the same nostalgic and supernatural tone that made the original series a global phenomenon.

Closing a Chapter

While the demolition of the Hawkins Lab set signals the end of an era for the production team, fans remain eager to see how the story will conclude. The lab’s storyline has been central to the series' plot, serving as the origin point for the Upside Down and Eleven’s powers.

Netflix has yet to comment on the demolition, and no official statement has been issued regarding whether scenes from the lab will feature in the upcoming season.

As fans await the Season 5 premiere, speculation continues over how the beloved series will tie together its storylines and characters for a final farewell.
