Wellness tourism is increasing in the United States. Retreat centers are reporting record bookings. Demand for yoga and meditation has increased. People are focusing on mental and physical health after the pandemic. Resorts are offering packages for stress reduction. Wellness getaways are becoming a popular vacation choice for 2025. Jasmine Liu says it is about intentional recovery.

Wellness tourism in the United States is booming, with retreat centers in Colorado, California, and Vermont reporting record bookings. Demand for yoga, meditation, and detox weekends has surged 30% compared to last summer, industry data shows.

Analysts say the post-pandemic focus on mental and physical health is pushing Americans to seek mindful escapes. Luxury resorts, eco-lodges, and spiritual retreats are increasingly offering specialized packages for stress reduction, digital detox, and nature immersion.

“It’s less about indulgence, more about intentional recovery,” said Jasmine Liu, director at Serene Roots Retreat in Boulder. With rising workplace burnout and tech fatigue, wellness getaways are emerging as the preferred vacation choice for 2025.
